The Dental Assistant will help make each patient as comfortable as possible. A Dental Assistant will prepare patients for treatment and review dental records with the doctor. Other functions include the sterilization and disinfection of instruments. Preparation of tray setups for procedures. Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care. Other duties include preparing materials for making impressions and taking digital x-rays.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance for dental treatment procedures.
- Set up and breakdown the operatory.
- Take digital x-rays and set them up on the computer for the dentist to review.
Education & Experience
- Dental assisting experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Resume must demonstrate stable employment history.
A Dental Hygienist is an oral health professional who focuses on preventing and treating oral diseases. This type of care helps protect a patient’s teeth and gums. The dental hygienist performs oral health assessments. This includes reviewing the patients’ health history, dental charting, oral cancer screening and removing plaque from the gum line. The dental hygienist will apply fluorides and sealants to help prevent cavities.
The dental hygienist will explain proper oral hygiene techniques to maintain healthy teeth and gums. In addition, a dental hygienist will instruct patients about controlling plaque and developing individualized at-home oral hygiene programs.
The patient care coordinator assures that each patient is fully cared for. They will assist in communicating the needs of the patient to other dental professionals. In addition they will be required to provide additional support by scheduling dental services in a timely and efficient manner.
Office duties include scheduling and confirming appointments. Checking patients in and out. Organizing treatment records. Sending bills and receiving payments. Maintaining the inventory of supplies and materials. The patient care coordinator works closely with our dental professionals to ensure that each patient receives the dental care they require.
Patient Care Coordinator Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients in a friendly manner.
- Collect co-payments and verify insurance or Dental Direct coverage.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Prepare new patient charts neatly and accurately.
- Various office duties as assigned by Office Manager.
- Patient billing and Patient Collections.
- Collect and post payments and record receipts.
